Roberto Castiglioni is a seasoned executive in the energy transition space with a background in banking and fund management. He is currently the CEO and co-founder of the Ikigai Group, where he leads the company’s efforts to develop and advise on battery energy storage systems (BESS). Prior to joining Ikigai, Roberto worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland and Ingenious Infrastructure. At Ingenious, he set up the first BtM BESS fund in 2016.
At Ikigai, Roberto has supported the group’s venture into BESS, both on the advisory and development side. Ikigai have advised clients across Europe on the colocation of BESS and PV, supported large infrastructure investors in the UK in the development of standalone BESS and commercial customer in creating a portfolio of PV and BESS. Roberto has led the development of 2.5GW of standalone BESS in Italy.
